DUAL TEAM & TOURNAMENTS

The Duals (2 teams competing) and Quads (4+ teams competing) are major events for our Advanced wrestlers. Tournaments (Novice or Open) feature competition level wrestling for those who are interested and able. LDYW provides opportunities for a range of wrestlers throughout the season. Stay tuned for info and registration links. If we register and pay for your wrestler, he/she must attend or you must reimburse the fee promptly. No exceptions.

Dual Team:

LDYW will develop a "Dual Team" that competes against other youth "Dual Teams." Before a varsity (main event) wrestling match, our Dual Team will wrestle on one mat while the LD Junior High (7, 8, 9th graders) team will wrestle on another mat. Wrestlers earn spots on the LDYW Dual Team by winning a coach officiated "wrestle off." Dual Team or competition level wrestling (novice or open tournaments) is something to work toward, but it is not appropriate for everyone, at least not right away.

Novice and Open Tournaments:

Check out the www.PYwrestling.com for tournaments and look for "Novice" class in the descriptions. If they are "Open" tournaments, then wrestlers from all skill levels will attend. "Novice" is for wrestlers with 0-2 years of experience.

2023-2024 Weight Classes:

The 19 weight classes are set by our league (Central Pennsylvania Wrestling Association or CPWA). After approximately January 16, each weight class will increase by one pound.
